test models
This model is about line and contrast. As we can found these two principle and element in the previous structure, I used curve line and straight line to show the contrast. The curve is related to the body movement. Triangles is the shape we used in the bamboo structure so that i arranged the lines in this shape.
Next, this test model is played with line and rhythm. The principle and elements are used in the bamboo structure before. I arranged the sticks in wavy lines and create a pathway. The sticks are gradually becoming higher as I tend to create a pathway that attract people’s vision. From my research, when we enter a bigger and higher space, we are tend to look higher and observe the environment.
Light and shadow have been applied in this test model. In the previous structure, we played with the shadow by using the “rose window”. For this model, I fold the paper into different size and different angle of triangle so we can always see the shadow even thought the light is from different angles.
Space and shadow are the main concept for this test model. From previous bamboo structure, we also create a space which is the walking pathway. I used those solid and hollow triangles in different sizes to create an irregular “sphere” as a space. It likes a semi-open space, people can pass through it through the hollow triangles.
This model is about shape and contrast. I curve the triangle shape and make a wavy pathway. Semi- transparent triangles on the top control the light wavelength which penetrate into the space.
This model is developed form the first test model but the curve lines and straight lines is thinner than the lines used in first test model. More lines is used in this test model also. Pattern of shadow is more complicated than the first test model.
