In Project 1, we exploded design elements and principles to develop and generate design intentions. We also learn the way how to translate our ideas into 3-dimensional designs or 2 dimensional diagrams.
We are required to make 6 models and 6 tattoo stamps respectively. Different materials are allowed to used in model making.
Space and grouping are applied in this model. My idea is inspired by containers.
ELEMENT : SPACE
PRINCIPLE : GROUPING

Contrast is shown by those triangles which made by different materials and colours.
ELEMENT : MATERIAL
PRINCIPLE : CONTRAST
Different kind of lines are forming a pattern. Curve lines forms wave pattern, different width of straight lines are also forming another pattern.
ELEMENT : LINE
PRINCIPLE : PATTERN
Variety size of cubes are stacked together forming an hourglass-shaped model.
ELEMENT : MASS
PRINCIPLE : VARIETY
Square frames are placed according their sizes and anticlockwise so it formed rhythm when we look into in from the front.
ELEMENT : SHAPE
PRINCIPLE : RHYTHM
This model is inspired by Chinese paper cutting. Lines are connected to the boards.
ELEMENT : LINE
PRINCIPLE : CONNECTION
learning outcome
From this project, I have learned the knowledge about design principles and elements. I also got the idea about design intention and interpretation. This is the first step how I learn to design a structure.
