DESIGNING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES + MATERIALITY
In this project, We have to explore our conceptual and operational procedures in order to produce a significant gesture of architectural spaces. We have to select the architectural principle from first assignment, define them and explore the potential meanings and implications of the architectural principles in the sense that it will inform two areas: generating forms and crafting spaces.
We have to select one daily objects and look for one design principle from it, explore and implement it into our design. The daily object that I selected is a standing fan. The principle we can found on standing fan is repetition and contrast.
After researching on my case study, New City of Perth Library Building, I get to learn more on their use of materials and spatial arrangements. I try to apply those into my structure. People will have different spatial experiences and gradient of feelings when they go through the whole journey. Short to Tall, Stress to Relax.

From this project, I have produces design possibilities through the use of architectonics in a simple architectural form and space. Besides, I have establish a basic level of understanding of materiality and detailing as means to capture experiential qualities of the design.
