design intention
Walking is one of the most common form of banal action. There are not many people who appreciate their surroundings and the serenity when they are walking, they are either on their phones scrolling through social media or listening to music on their headphones. But what about life's little moments. "Is it possible to celebrate something as simple as walking"
elements
L I N E S
The first and most basic element of design is that of the line. In drawing, a line is the stroke of the pen or pencil.
EXPRESSIVE QUALITIES OF DIFFERENT LINES

Vertical Lines
They express stability. Artists use them to show dignity, poise, stiffness, and formality.

Horizontal Lines
They express feelings of peace, rest, quiet, and stability.

Diagonal Lines
They express instability, tension, activity, and excitement.
S H A P E S
Shapes are defined by boundaries, such as lines or colour, and they are often used to emphasise a portion of the page. Everything is ultimately a shape, so you must always think in terms of how the various elements of your design are creating shapes, and how those shapes are interacting.
EXPRESSIVE QUALITIES OF DIFFERENT SHAPES

Squares and Rectangles
Can portray strength and stability.

Circles and Ellipses
Can represent continuous movement.

Triangles
Can lead the eye in an upward movement.

Inverted Triangles
Can create a sense of imbalance and tension.
principles
CONTRAST
Contrast is an important principle of design because it lets you draw out the most important elements of a design and add emphasis. Contrast happens when two design elements are in opposition to each other, like black and white, thick and thin, modern and traditional, etc. Contrast is what helps guide the viewer's eyes to the most important parts of your design
REPITITION
Repetition is an important design basic because it helps strengthen the overall look of the design. It also ties together different elements to help them remain organised and more consistent. Consistency and repetition is very important in architecture because you want your particular look to be instantly recognizable.
RHYTHM
A visual tempo or beat. The principle of design that refers to a regular repetition of elements of art to produce the look and feel of movement.
